Drugs Are the Religion of the People — The Only Hope is Dope

I have always been fascinated with LSD, the way people react differently to it. Those “trips” aren’t hallucinations, but a different perception of reality. You hear color, and look at music. Your IQ skyrockets, and you see things that aren’t there you see everything differently. These “trips” can last an hour even up to 12 hours but to some people they last a life time. This drug absolutely fascinates me. If you put one drop of it in the Rio Grande River you will see the effects of the people and other living things. Some people claim you aren’t living until you use LSD.

Some of the physiological changes that happen to the body are: dilated pupils, increase in blood pressure, high body temperature. Some people experience sweaty palms, dizziness, blurred vision, tingling of the limbs – but over all they feel happy and at peace in this euphoric stage of life.

LSD stimulates the hormone Serotonin. LSD doesn't block serotonin from filling the receptors, it mimics and enhances the effects of serotonin within the body. Since serotonin is responsible for sensory and emotional processing, creating these psychedelic experience.

LSD doesn’t kill people, it is the poor judgment, skewed perception, and lose inhibition is what physically harms them, if not, kills them. You hear it all the time on the news of people killing themselves over what their mind is on. I knew of this one girl that saw her own vain on her wrist and decided to cut her arm to see how “pretty” her veins were. She died.

Although people say they are addicted to the drug, they are actually talking about the feeling of it. LSD isn’t an addictive drug by any means, there isn’t a rehab center for it. If people regularly use it are the people that only do it once a week, as it is if you use it twice a week you are consider a “heavy user.” Every trip is different, and you are gambling to see if you will have a “good” trip or a “bad” one. Other drug users need that stable and consistent trip, hence why they become addicted to their respective drug of choice.
This is a documentary that I saw, super amazing. I warn you it is about an hour long. But if you want to experience a "trip" look at the bottom picture for a minute and then look at the wall.
YOU'RE WELCOME.

  1. Native Indians would use peyote to go into trance or for mediation. It was used for a higher understanding and finding peace within yourself. A heavy user is in search for that utopia high which leads to "bad trips". Eventually the user becomes psychotic and harms themselves or others. I believe some individuals have greater tolerance to "enjoy" or "handle" the high of the drug.

  2. Did you know that in one study the drug was used in an Alcoholics Anonymous group and after one year 50% of the alcoholics had not had a drink. These results have yet to be duplicated by other means.
It was greatly used as a psychiatric drug to treat mild personality disorders, curing alcoholism and enhancing creativity. The reason it was banned was because the drug was becoming widely used among the general public for recreational use. The threshold dose is only 20 micrograms (.02 milligrams)any more and the euphoric experience becomes a bad trip. The government used those symptoms; panic attacks and psychotic crises, as the base of their argument.
Now the drug is limited to research, easing the suffering of the dying, drug addicts and alcoholics.

    1. You know how rare it is to get pure LSD, not the ripoff thing that makes it addicting? This is why we can't research it, less than 1% of LSD users ever get pure LSD. It also has to do a lot with the mood of the time you are in. I have heard of people seeing zombies and cannibalistic behaviors due to being stressed ergo "bad trip"

This is why we can't have nice things -.-

  3. I liked that you made it real clear that LSD does not kill people but it's poor judgement and their alter perception. But because the feeling of happiness is highly increased and have the euphoric experience the typical addict finds himself/herself using every day and it's unfortunate that they get so caught up in these kinds of addictions and lose all sense of what is real and what is not.
Albert Hoffman first synthesized LSD November 1938 but the intention was to obtain respiratory and circulatory stimulant but put it aside for a few years. It would be April 1943 when he would find out how powerful the effects were of LSD when he accidentally tasted a small amount which he described as follows:
... affected by a remarkable restlessness, combined with a slight dizziness. At home I lay down and sank into a not unpleasant intoxicated-like condition, characterized by an extremely stimulated imagination. In a dreamlike state, with eyes closed (I found the daylight to be unpleasantly glaring), I perceived an uninterrupted stream of fantastic pictures, extraordinary shapes with intense, kaleidoscopic play of colors. After some two hours this condition faded away.
